Meditation

The Tibetan word for meditate "gom" means to familiarize. When we meditate, we seek to familiarize our minds with a virtuous object. The purpose is to fulfill our desire of wanting to be happy and not wanting to suffer, both in the short and long run. Training ultimately means to develop our mind according to the stages of the path to enlightenment - Lam Rim in Tibetan. By doing so we can attain different positive qualities of mental development, which will benefit ourselves and others.

Teachings, meditations and discussion on these stages are a part of Choe Khor Sum Ling's program.Talks are given by senior monks from Sera Je Monastery on the stages of the path to enlightenment, combined with meditation and discussion led by these monks. Talks and discussions by senior lamas last for the entire day and could also be spread over two consecutive days.
